Disciplying holds something more personal than most apps do: what someone writes about their own walk with God. This page explains plainly what we keep, who can see it, and what you can ask us for.
The short version
- What you write in your Bible study is seen only by you. Not your disciplyer, not your pastor, not an administrator — no one can open it from within the app.
- No one sees how many times you attempted a quiz. Your disciplyer only finds out when you pass it.
- There are no third-party trackers. No Google, no social networks. None.
- We never sell or rent your data. To anyone, for any reason.
- You can ask for your information, or ask us to delete your account, by writing to disciplica@juan316.com.
1. What we keep
When you accept an invitation: your name, your email, your date of birth, and the church or organization that invited you. Later, in your profile, you can add your phone number, country, sex, and a photo.
While you study: which lesson you are on, your Bible study answers, your quiz answers with their score and attempts, and which videos or audio you opened and how far you got.
Technical usage data: device type, screen size, browser language, and the country you connect from. This tells us whether the app works well on the devices and connections people actually use — many of our users are in areas with weak signal — and nothing else.
What we do not keep: your password. We never see it; it is stored encrypted and not even we can read it. Our usage logs also strip out any password, invitation code, or session data before anything is written.
2. What you write in your Bible study is yours
This is the most important part of this page.
When you answer the questions in a Bible study, you write personal things: where you are struggling, what is becoming clear, what you are asking for. Those answers are protected so that only you can open them. The app always requests them on behalf of the person who signed in; there is no way, inside the app, to request someone else's.
Your disciplyer does not read your answers. What they do see is your progress: which lesson you are on, how much of the study you have filled in, and whether you have passed the quiz.
Nor do they see how you got there. If you failed the quiz twice before passing it, your disciplyer does not find out: it appears for them when you pass, with the score you passed with. The attempts that did not pass are not shown to them.
We thought that mattered. Getting things wrong while you learn is part of learning, and nobody studies freely if they feel graded on every stumble.
If you want your disciplyer to know something you wrote, or something you found hard, you tell them. The app does not do it for you.
A note
Your answers live in our database, stored alongside your account's identifier. The protection is real — the app has no door through which another user could open them — but it is not a hiding place: the ministry's technical staff, who administer and back up the database, have the access needed to do that work and could read them.
That access is restricted and requires authorization from the highest level of the ministry, case by case and only for a specific technical reason. No one may look out of curiosity, or on their own initiative.
That access is used only to keep the system running. We do not read anyone's studies, and no decision about a person — not a promotion, not a certification, not a pastoral conversation — is made by reading what they wrote.
We would rather tell you this clearly than promise you a technical impossibility that does not exist.
3. Who sees what

Your disciplyer sees your name, email and phone because they need them to find you, write to you and walk alongside you — that is what discipleship is. The rest of your profile does not appear on their screen.
4. Minors
Disciplying is used in churches, and churches have young people in them. We take this seriously.
In any country: when someone under the age of majority is going to use Disciplying, the disciplyer who invites them must first speak with their parent or guardian, explain what the platform is and what it stores, and have their permission. The age of majority is taken as defined by the laws of the country where the person lives.
In the United States there is an additional, specific rule: the federal COPPA law governs data belonging to children under 13 and requires verifiable parental consent. For that reason, in the United States we do not open accounts for children under 13. For them, discipleship happens in person and with printed materials.
If you are a parent or guardian and you want to see what is in your child's account, the shortest path is not us: it is the church. Talk to their disciplyer, or to whoever leads the ministry there. They know your child, they know us, and they will get in touch with us.
The first thing we will ask is that your child show it to you themselves. Their disciplyer asks them — someone who knows them — and they are told from the start that if they do not, you will be able to get in. A young person deserves that chance before anyone decides for them.
If they do not, we send you a link so that you set the password on that account yourself. We never see or handle passwords, yours or anyone's. With that you get in, you see what is there, you take it with you if you want, and you decide whether to ask for the account to be deactivated or deleted.
We ask for a date of birth at sign-up precisely so we know when all of this applies.
5. Who we share data with
No one who wants to sell you anything. But the app relies on four services in order to work, and it is only fair that you know which:

None of the four uses your data for advertising.
We will also hand over information if a competent authority requires it of us by law. If that happens and we are permitted to tell you, we will.
6. What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent personal data. Ever, to anyone, at any price.
- There are no third-party trackers. No Google Analytics, no social media pixels, nothing of the kind. Usage statistics are ours and stay in our own database.
- We do not use cookies to follow you around other sites. The only things stored on your device are what is needed to keep you signed in and to let the app work without Internet.
- We do not train artificial intelligence models on what you write.
About advertising. Today Disciplying shows no advertising of any kind. If we ever decide to accept support from like-minded Christian organizations in order to sustain the ministry, we will say so here before doing it, and we can already commit to three things: we will not hand your data to any advertiser, there will be no ads targeted at you based on what you have studied or written, and no advertiser will be allowed to place trackers inside Disciplying.
7. What you download to your device
When you download a lesson to study offline, that material is stored on your device, tied to your account. It is not uploaded anywhere.
If you sign out, it is erased. That is deliberate: it keeps the material from being available to whoever picks up the phone after you.
8. How long we keep things
While your account is active, we keep your information so you can pick up where you left off and so your certificates remain valid.
Leaving is not the same as deleting. If you step away from discipleship — you move, you change churches, you set it aside for a while — your account is deactivated and your content is kept, so that the day you come back you pick up where you left off. That is what we do by default, and it deletes nothing.
If what you want is for us to delete your data, ask for it in those words. Then we delete your personal information and your answers within 30 days. It is irreversible: there is no copy, no trash can, no undo. A record of the fact remains without your name, your email or your identifier — only that an account belonging to that organization was deleted, when, and why — for the ministry's statistics.
9. What you can ask us for
Your answers are already yours, and you do not have to ask us for them. In every lesson, the study viewer has a button to download what you wrote, with your answers in it. You can also print it or email it to yourself. Do it whenever you like, without telling us — and do it before asking us to delete your account, because after that there is no going back.
By writing to disciplica@juan316.com you can ask to:
- See all the information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your account and what you have written.
Before we hand anything over, we confirm it is you. We write to the email address the account is registered under and wait for your reply from that same address. If we cannot confirm it, we do not release the information — and that protects you too, because it stops someone from requesting your data by pretending to be you.

We answer within 30 days. There is no charge, and you do not have to explain why.
10. If this page changes
When we change something significant, we change the date at the top and say so inside the app. We do not change the rules quietly.
